SHORT STORIES

In literature, short stories convey a single central theme in a concise and to the point continuation of the traditions of oral storytelling. As a photographic artis, there are situations that you come upon that are fleeting, opportunities of time and place that are wonderful and shouldn't be missed because they don't fit into a larger narrative.

There are many long term projects that are in my resume and on this website, here are a few of the SHORT STORIES I would like to share.

What could be more idyllic than a vacation at a house that had a pool? Making images of children’s pool play toys, color and shadows being created in ever more patterns by the current in the pool added to the memories.

During the summer of 2010, Los Angeles County staged the largest public art project to date, painting lifeguard stations and installing panels on them painted by disabled children, on over 30 miles of   Los Angeles County coastline. A chance weekend visit to Santa Monica offered me a brief opportunity to make these images. The project came down two weeks later.

The Roue de Paris was installed in the Place de la Concorde as part of the Millennium celebrations in Paris. Indeed, what a sight in the City of Light. Good fortune took us to Paris at Christmas in 2000 and I had the opportunity to make these images before the wheel came down.
